Return and Refund Policy — Render and Roots

This policy governs returns and cancellations for orders placed at renderandroots.shop.
1. Return Window
You have 30 days from delivery of the last item in your order to request a return. If your order shipped in multiple packages, the window starts when the final package is delivered. If the 30th day falls on a weekend or holiday, the window extends to the next business day.
2. Final Sale Items — Opened Personal Care Products
Because our products are handcrafted, small-batch personal care items applied directly to skin, opened or used tallow balms, lotions, and salves are final sale and not eligible for return, for hygiene and safety reasons. This exception does not affect your rights under Section 4 (Damaged or Defective Items).
Eligible for return: unopened, unused products in their original packaging, within the 30-day window. Not eligible for return: opened or used products, gift cards, and any item marked "final sale" at checkout.
3. Cancellations
You can cancel any item in your order any time before it has shipped (been fulfilled). Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled and falls under the return rules above instead. To cancel, email support@renderandroots.shop with your order number as soon as possible — we process orders within 1–3 business days, so the cancellation window is short.
4. Damaged or Defective Items
If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact support@renderandroots.shop within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and packaging. We'll issue a full refund or free replacement, and we cover return shipping for these cases — this is the one exception to the final-sale rule in Section 2.
5. Return Shipping Costs
For eligible (unopened) returns not covered by Section 4, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We do not currently charge a restocking fee.
6. Refund Method & Timing
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Once we receive and inspect your return, we process refunds within 5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the refund. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong or defective item).
7. How to Start a Return
Email support@renderandroots.shop with your order number and reason for return. We'll confirm eligibility under this policy and provide return instructions. Do not send items back without confirmation first.
