Everything you need to know about getting your Render & Roots order — by mail, at the market, or by local pickup.
Processing
1–3 business days. Small-batch items occasionally take a little longer — we'll tell you up front.
Delivery
3–7 business days within the U.S. after processing, with tracking provided.
Local Pickup
Always free — at our farmers market booth or by arrangement in the Utica, IL area.
Satisfaction
Not happy? Contact us within 30 days and we'll make it right.
Shipping
- We ship throughout the United States. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days; delivery typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location.
- Shipping costs are calculated by order weight and destination and shown before you pay. For Messenger orders, we'll quote shipping before you confirm.
- You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.
- Please double-check your shipping address. We are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer — but email order@renderandroots.shop fast and we'll try to catch it before it ships.
- If tracking shows your package as lost (no movement for 10+ days) or it's marked delivered but missing, email order@renderandroots.shop — we'll work with the carrier and make sure you're taken care of.
Warm-Weather Shipping
Tallow is a natural fat and melts above roughly 75°F (24°C). During hot months we may ship early in the week (so packages don't sit in a truck over the weekend), use insulated packaging, or recommend local pickup. If your balm arrives softened: don't worry — it's still perfectly good. Let it cool at room temperature, or chill briefly and stir to restore the whipped texture. Softening from summer heat isn't a defect, so it isn't eligible for a refund on its own — but if anything seems off, message us and we'll sort it out.
Local Pickup
Local pickup is always free. Choose pickup when ordering (or just tell us in Messenger) and collect your order at our next farmers market, or arrange a pickup time in the Utica, Illinois area. Our current market schedule is posted here and updated weekly on Facebook.
Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love every jar. If you're not satisfied, email support@renderandroots.shop within 30 days of receiving your order.
- Unopened products in original condition can be returned for a full refund of the purchase price. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the return is due to our error.
- Opened or used products can't be restocked for hygiene and safety reasons — but that doesn't leave you stuck. Depending on the issue we'll offer a replacement, exchange, store credit, or refund, usually without needing anything sent back.
- Please contact us before sending anything back so we can approve the return and give you the address.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of approval.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged or we sent the wrong item, email order@renderandroots.shop within 7 days of delivery with a photo and we'll replace it or refund you in full — no hassle, no runaround. We're a small family business and every order matters to us.
Farmers Market Purchases
Bought something at our booth? The same 30-day satisfaction policy applies. Message us or email support@renderandroots.shop and we'll take care of you at our next market or by mail.
